Distinguishing Marks:

  • Male: Black eye band, yellow throat/breast and white head band.

  • Rounded wings and thick bill.

 

Tiny insect eating bird with distinctive black eye band. Can be found in successional and scrub habitat.

 

 


 

 

 

 

Black-throated Green Warbler

Dendroica virens

 

Distinguishing Marks:

  • Male: Under parts pale with yellowish tinge and black streaks on sides. Yellow head. Black throat and green chest. Female's chest is buffier. 

The Black-throated Green Warbler is seen mostly in woodlands. Its diet consists mostly of insects.
